Integrity has to do with sound moral principles, sincerity, and honesty. It is descriptive of a person who is concerned with that which is right and ethical. It is concerned with rightness of motive and conduct. The lack of integrity has diminished organizations and even caused empires to crumble in the dust.
The writer of Proverbs says, “He who walks in integrity walks securely>’ Integrity has a steadying effect upon one’s steps. When one thinks the right way and does the right things he can walk with confidence. There is no fear of reprisals. He does not have to shift from one position to another. He does not have to hide from truth and he has no hidden agenda.
Integrity has diminished in our society. Many people want what they want and do not care what they do to get it. They do not consider how their actions impact the lives of others. We need more integrity in society, in the business world and even in the church. The writer of Proverbs adds, “But he who perverts his ways will be found out.” When one does not have integrity, ultimately he will be found out. His own deed will expose and betray him.
